זָמַר III, Hif. הִזְמִיר (cmp. זְמוֹרָא) to took bluish. Ylamd. to Num. 25:14, quot. in Ar. (play on זִמְרִי) עד שה׳ בשרו כביצה מוזרת until his flesh (through his lewdness) had the color of a smashed (rotten) egg; (cmp. Tanḥ. Pinḥ. 2, Num. R. s. 21, beg., Snh.82bwhere our w. is omitted).
